Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups tomato juice
  • 4 ounces vodka
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce such as Tabasco
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • Celery stalks for garnish
  • Lime wedges for garnish
  • Olives for garnish
  • Pickled vegetables for garnish (optional)
  • Bacon strips for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

  • In a large pitcher, combine the tomato juice, vodka, lemon juice, lime juice, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, hot sauce, celery salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Stir well.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed, adding more hot sauce or horseradish for extra spice.
  • Fill two tall glasses with ice.
  • Pour the Bloody Mary mixture into the glasses.
  • Garnish with celery stalks, lime wedges, olives, and any other desired garnishes.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the vodka.
  • Freshly squeezed lime and lemon juice will elevate the flavor.
  • Use a high quality vodka for the best result.
  • If you don't like horseradish, a spicy mustard can be used as a substitute.
  • Adding a splash of pickle juice adds a nice tang.
