Creamy Garlic Shrimp Alfredo

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound pasta fettuccine, linguine, or penne
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Cook the pasta according to package directions, until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook until pink and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, until slightly thickened.
  • Stir in the Parmesan cheese, parsley, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix well until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  • Add the cooked shrimp and pasta to the sauce. Toss to coat evenly.
  • Serve immediately and garnish with extra Parmesan cheese and parsley, if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer sauce, use half and half instead of heavy cream.
  • You can also add other vegetables like broccoli or spinach to the dish.
  • For a spicier version, add more red pepper flakes.
  • You can also use other types of seafood like scallops or chicken.
  • Be sure not to overcook the shrimp, or they will become rubbery.
