Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Instructions

  • Melt butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced bananas to the skillet in a single layer.
  • Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the bananas.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the bottom of the bananas starts to caramelize and turn golden brown.
  • Flip the banana slices carefully and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the other side is also caramelized and the bananas are softened.
  • Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or a splash of vanilla extract.
  • Serve immediately, as the bananas soften as they cool.
  • Light or dark brown sugar both work—dark brown sugar gives a deeper caramel taste.
  • If you prefer a healthier option, use coconut oil instead of butter.
  • Make a bigger batch and store leftovers in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
